Are you insured?

Yes. I have full Public Liability Insurance of up to £5 million.

Do we sign a contract?

Yes. Signing a contract protects all of us, makes clear what we are all agreeing to and prevents misunderstandings.

When do we pay you?

You need to pay a £300 deposit at the time of booking and the balance a week before the wedding. This can be paid by cash, cheque or bank transfer.

How do we book you?

To be fair to all potential clients, I have to work on a first come, first served basis. If after our first meeting we are all comfortable that we can work well together, you will need to pay the deposit and sign the wedding contract to secure the date. Once you have done this, the date is fixed in my diary and will not be offered to any other couples.

Do your prices include VAT?

All prices include VAT. The pricing on my packages has been kept deliberately simple and straightforward so you know exactly what you are paying.

What area do you cover?

Most of the weddings I cover are in London and the Home Counties. But I am happy to negotiate travelling further.

Do you charge travel expenses?

My prices include travel within a 50-mile radius of HP6. Beyond this I charge 45p a mile.

Are you able to cover overseas weddings?

Yes, but you would need to cover my travel and accommodation expenses in full. I speak fluent French and Italian, passable Arabic and a smattering of Spanish.

Do you offer a pre-wedding shoot?

All my wedding packages include the option of a pre-wedding shoot. This is not compulsory, but advisable - it will help us to get to know each other, and will help you to relax in front of the camera on the day itself.

What happens if we need to rearrange the date?

On the rare occasions that this happens, I try to be as flexible as possible. If your new wedding date has not been booked already by another couple, then I'll be happy to swap dates at no extra charge. If the date is taken though, I regret you will lose your deposit.

What happens if the wedding doesn't go ahead?

You would lose your deposit, but would not be expected to pay the full amount due.

What happens if you are unable to photograph our wedding?

I have close links with a number of other excellent photographers and would do my utmost to secure a reliable replacement for you.

What equipment do you use?

I use top of the range Nikon cameras and a selection of quality lenses. I always carry back-up cameras and lenses in case of technical problems. I prefer wherever possible to use natural light, but I do use flash when the quality of the light requires it. I also have portable studio lighting, which may be needed for instance if the weather forces us inside.

What preparation do you do?

I like to meet all potential clients in person before taking a firm booking. You need to like and trust the photographer you choose and I like to get to know my clients better too – this helps so much on the day to put you at ease and reflects in the photos. Meeting face to face gives me the chance to find out more about the style of wedding you are going for and how I can help you capture this.

I then do at least one recce of the venue(s) to make sure I identify the best places for photos and to work out my back-up plan if the weather is bad.

The night before, I give all my camera equipment a clean, charge all batteries, clear memory cards, and review the wedding contract and any instructions you have given me on specific shots that you want.

Do you take group shots?

I am always happy to do formal group shots for the couples I work with, but advise keeping these to a minimum. With my style of photography, I always capture lots of informal groupings, and taking direction from you, ensure that key friends and family feature heavily in these.

Do we get the digital images from our wedding?

Yes. Every wedding package includes the digital images on disk.

Who owns the copyright?

I own the copyright. You will receive a certificate with your digital images, waiving copyright restrictions for you, allowing you to duplicate your wedding photos as you wish.

When can we see our images?

I am always really eager to see the photos from a wedding shoot myself, so I can understand how keen clients are to see their pictures. This is why I aim to make your photos available to view within five days of your wedding. It may be sooner than this depending on other commitments. Clients are often able to view their images online while still on honeymoon.

The disk of images and slideshow is usually available within two weeks of your wedding.

If you opt for a coffee table book or wedding album, I work closely with you to create something unique and personal to you. Once you have agreed the photos you wish to include in your album, it takes about three weeks for me to complete and get the finished product to you.

Do you offer a post-wedding shoot?

For a small additional charge, I can return with you to your wedding setting for a dedicated session of photos.
